Our studio

Dark Slope’s 35,000 sq ft studio space includes two sound stages housed in the legendary purpose-built building at 793 Pharmacy Ave,

home to some of the most celebrated productions shot in Canada. Marlon Brando, Robert De Niro, Jane Fonda, Matthew Broderick, John Candy, Martin Short, Cher, Freddie Mercury, The Rolling Stones, Ringo Starr, Eugene Levy and even Polkaroo have all been a part of the rich history at our landmark studio complex.

Magder Studio

Dark Slope’s prime-time LED volume in Magder Studio includes our curved LED wall that is one of the largest in North America at 75 ft. wide in circumference and 18 ft. high. Our in-house team of Unreal Engine experts support productions in Magder Studio for a seamless virtual production experience across drama, unscripted, vehicle processing, commercial production and more.

Sterling Studio

Sterling Studio includes our multifunctional sound stage, perfect for fixed practical sets, swing sets, green screen, and motion capture. A roving 20 ft LED volume ideal for non-fiction, documentary and high quality cost effective production can also be made available for shoots.

Includes a 3,353 sq ft two-story loft with 2 washrooms and a mezzanine kitchen
Xsens, Optitrack, StretchSense and Manus hardware for capture
Pipeline features live previs of characters, reference camera capture and integration with Shopgird

1 Project Assessment

Take the guesswork away with Dark Slope’s assessment process. Dark Slope will provide guidance on grouping shots and estimate the time cost and asset requirements for an LED shoot inclusive of tax credit assessment.

2 Pre-production and Pre-visualization

To make the most of your shoot days, Dark Slope provides virtual camera set up, virtual scouting, and technical lighting assistance to help support the director’s vision long before the actual shoot.

3 Digital Asset Preparation and Creation

From 2D plates to 3D models and VFX, Dark Slope’s pipeline is flexible to input your assets or source and create digital assets from scratch.

4 Vehicle processing

Use the LED volume and articulating ceiling to shoot realistic interior car shots, complete with beautiful reflections and remarkably realistic movement simulation.

5 Performance Capture

Bring animated characters to life with performance artists using body motion and facial capture.

Offsite Parking - When the production circus of vehicles comes to town we have got you covered. Dark Slope has pre-negotiated favorable rates at a nearby parking lot providing up to 300 parking spaces within minutes from our studio.
