Dark Slope, a leader in virtual production and immersive storytelling, announces it is investing $1 million CAD to support film and television projects over the next 12 months. Investments will support partially financed projects that can benefit from Dark Slope’s LED volume soundstage complex and virtual production team.
The investments will aim to help projects that lend themselves to virtual production get to greenlight- content that can benefit from the visual and cost advantages of virtual production—whether scripted or unscripted, feature or series. No matter where a story is set, it can be brought to life in Dark Slope’s 35,000 sq. ft. Toronto studio – one of the largest virtual production complexes in North America—delivering cinematic quality with unmatched efficiency. Dark Slope will be prioritizing producers with a proven track record. Projects must have a minimum of one third of their financing secured and at least one recognized buyer already committed to be considered.
“Virtual production elevates production values, accelerates timelines, and provides creative flexibility.” said Dan Fill, President of Dark Slope. “In a volatile time for the industry, this investment fund will move more productions to greenlight”.
Over the past six months Dark Slope has invested over $500,000 in third-party productions, such as the highly anticipated Accent Aigu Entertainment’s Crave Original series Heated Rivalry. This new commitment underscores the company's dedication to fostering productions that embrace cutting-edge virtual production techniques.
“In addition to our recent investments in the first six months of 2025, we’re committing up to $1 million more over the next twelve months to help projects get made,” said Raja Khanna, Executive Chair of Dark Slope. “With commissioning budgets under pressure, producers need smarter, more efficient ways to deliver standout content. Our virtual production capabilities offer just that—accelerated timelines, stunning visuals, and real cost savings—and we’re here to help bring those visions to life.”
Producers attending the Banff World Media Festival 2025 can connect with Dark Slope's leadership, including President Dan Fill and Executive Chair Raja Khanna, to discuss potential collaborations. Those unable to attend are encouraged to reach out via the company's website or send an inquiry to studios@darkslope.com.
