DARK SLOPE ANNOUNCES THE RELEASE OF THE DEEP: BEYOND THE REEF ON META QUEST 3 & META QUEST 3S

Dark Slope is proud to announce the launch of The Deep: Beyond the Reef, a VR, immersive first-person adventure and exploration game available now on the Meta Quest 3 and Meta Quest 3S. 

Based on the award-winning animated series The Deep, produced by A Stark Production and adapted from the original graphic novel by Tom Taylor, the acclaimed and award winning creator,  the game brings one of the world’s most beloved underwater adventure franchises into the immersive gaming space for the first time.

The Deep: Beyond the Reef invites players to dive into a mysterious underwater world to discover the source of contamination affecting the ocean resulting in an adventure filled with discovery, environmental storytelling, and non-violent problem solving.

In The Deep: Beyond the Reef, players join forces with the adventurous Nekton family to uncover ancient Lemurian artifacts and protect the ocean from corruption. Equipped with the state-of-the-art Vulcan Knight exosuit, players will explore distinct dive sites, restore marine ecosystems, evade colossal sea creatures, and gradually unlock modules and upgrades to push deeper into the ocean in pursuit of solving the mystery and saving the ocean.

The game was developed by Dark Slope’s award-winning immersive team, the creators of Dino Hab, which was named VR Game of the Year in 2024. The project was made possible through funding support from the Canadian Media Fund (CMF), reinforcing Dark Slope’s role as a leader in advancing Canadian innovation in immersive storytelling.

The Deep franchise has reached audiences in more than 130 territories and has been recognized with international awards including the Kidscreen Award for Best New Children’s Series and a BAFTA nomination The Deep: Beyond the Reef marks the first interactive game adaptation of the series, extending its transmedia presence and legacy.
